Product Description With three straight #1 bestsellers and more than 4 million copies of his books in print, the most powerful traditional force in the American media now takes off his gloves in the ongoing struggle for America’s heart and soul.
Bill O’Reilly is the very embodiment of the idea of a Culture Warrior—and in this book he lives up to the title brilliantly, with all the brashness and forthrightness at his command. He sees that America is in the midst of a fierce culture war between those who embrace traditional values and those who want to change America into a “secular-progressive” country. This is a conflict that differs in many ways from the usual liberal/conservative divide, but it is no less heated, and the stakes are even higher. In Culture Warrior, Bill O’Reilly defines this war and analyzes the competing philosophies of the traditionalist and secular-progressive camps. He examines why the nation’s motto “E Pluribus Unum” (“From Many, One”) might change to “What About Me?”; dissects the forces driving the secular-progressive agenda in the media and behind the scenes, including George Soros, George Lakoff, and the ACLU; and dives into matters of race, education, and the war on terror. He also shows how the culture war has played out in such high-profile instances as The Passion of the Christ, Fahrenheit 9/11, the abuse epidemic (child and otherwise), and the embattled place of religion in public life—with special emphasis on the war against Christmas. Whatever controversies are roiling the nation, he fearlessly confronts them—and no one will be in the dark about which side he’s on. Culture Warrior showcases Bill O’Reilly at his most eloquent and impassioned. He is an unrelenting fighter for the soul of America, and in this book he fights the good fight for the traditional values that have served this country so well for so long.

Too Much Common Sense August 14, 2010 Ferguson Frank If there's a guy on TV today that makes more common sense than Bill O'Reilly, I'd like to know who. Buy this book, read it, and keep going back to it for references rebuttal material to your liberal friends.
Great Book! August 12, 2010 knox richardson If you love watching O'Reilly on TV, and I do, but think his show is too short, and I do, then this book is your antidote. A must read for all conservatives and all Americans for that matter in exposing the true motives behind the liberal agenda.
An Atlas of the Culture Wars August 9, 2010 James Gallen (St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A.) "Culture Warrior" is Bill O'Reilly's assessment of the Culture Wars based on his years on the front lines. O'Reilly sees a war between traditionalists and the "secular-progressives" who want to change our country by driving traditional values from the American life. In this book he defines the issues, identifies the warriors on both sides and proposes courses of action for traditionalist warriors. He writes the way he talks, which is understandable and to the point. Although willing to take on those on the other side, he seems to try to make reasonable judgments rather than engaging in ad hominum attacks against opponents.
I consider myself to be a traditionalist culture warrior. Although I had heard Bill O'Reilly's name, I was not familiar with him before this book. I found it to be interesting and informative. Although O'Reilly finds the battlegrounds in somewhat different places than do I, that might reflect our different locations rather than divergent beliefs. When hearing the argument of one who has a financial interest in the outcome of a debate, there is always a suspicion that some of the issues may be framed more to generate ratings than to engage in useful exchange. Having been issued in 2007, it is now somewhat dated as some of the figures mentioned have moved on to other stations in life, such as George W. Bush, who is no longer president, Nancy Pelosi, who is no longer minority leader, and Al Franken, who is no longer a private clown. That said, I am glad that I read this book and fell better able to engage the secular-progressives in this crucial war over the future of our country and the world.
Cultural Warrior-Bill O'Reilly July 21, 2010 Apache PA I found the book interesting. If you are a progressive and to an extend a liberal you will not like this book. But on the other hand, if the shoe fits?? Though a conservative view of various people, media and the like, it does open your mind to people behind the scene who are progressive and liberal in ideas and their methods that forget human nature. If progressive and liberals express their ideals and have failed miserably in past decades. I cannot see how they can say that traditions and conservated methods/government does not work.
Our founding father had it right. Having traditions and being conservative will work with our constitution. Marxism, socialism and communism will bring out the worse in our fellow Americans including leaders. The government does what WE the people want. Read this book, I grew up in the sixty's, in California and my family were at the lower end of the middle class near poverty level. But one thing I learned from my parents was hard work will give the things you want. I do not want any hand out from state or US government because their is tendency that it breeds laziness and thinking that somebody or society owes you some value. This is what this book has shown me no one owes you something.
Mixed Bag June 6, 2010 PST (Eislingen Deutschland) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a German, I had never hreared of Mr. O'Reilly until I read this book.
It is basically the credo of a conservative, but not bigot American. The book is probably well researched, although I cannot judge this.
Many of his point make sense, even to a European, some don't, for example: How one can defend the right to possess and sell arms, but not the right to do the same thing with drugs. Also his constant "Judeo - Christian angle" was difficult to digest for me (America was founded on ideas of Enlightenment, not on anything else...)
My main objection is to the style, this book is written in! I am sure, that Mr. O'Reilly is MUCH more intelligent, than his writing suggests.
This is my reason for only giving two stars.
