Product Description For Jon and Erin Bennett, the world seems to be spinning dangerously out of control. A new dictator is rising in Iraq. China is making threatening new moves toward Taiwan. North Korean forces appear ready to strike south. Israel is feverishly trying to complete the Third Temple. Oil prices are surging. And in the wake of an horrific war in the Middle East, President James MacPherson-s second term is coming to an end. Now the battle to succeed him is heating up into one of the most fiercely contested presidential elections in American history, and the Bennetts realize the stakes could not be higher. Who will lead a bitterly divided country over the next four years? What can the U.S. do to shape the new world order? And just what role--if any--does the U.S. play in the last days? As the presidential campaign narrows into a dead heat, the Secret Service learns of a catastrophic plot to assassinate one of the candidates--but which one, and can the terrorists be stopped in time?

There is hope in Christ. August 31, 2010 kcallenstuff For people interested in end times events his series is a great way of understanding how the events could unfold. Of course reading the whole series helps the most. Joel is a great writer and his books are easy to read.
Great book! July 20, 2010 J. Bowling (Virginia Beach, VA USA) This and Rosenberg's other books in the series are thrilling! I couldn't put them down.
great book June 25, 2010 C. Reynolds (broken arrow, ok usa) really enjoyed this book, as i have all of Joel Rosenberg's work. it's almost scary how his books fortell the future
A nice ending to a great saga. June 15, 2010 John White (Ohio, USA) Joel Rosenberg concludes his "Last Jihad" series with several nightmare scenarios, and one glorious scenario. Multiple nuclear attacks, presidential assassinations, espionage, drug use, and the return of the Only Wise God Himself, Jesus Christ, make "Dead Heat" a book you just cannot put down. I only had two issues with "Dead Heat." One, if it's possible to make the return of Jesus and the rapture of the Church anticlimactic, Rosenberg managed to do just that. And two, he fell into the same trap the writers of the "Left Behind" series did, in claiming that the rapture happens before the tribulation, and then claiming that people can get saved after the Rapture. Both of these are unbiblical doctrines. But alas, this is a work of fiction. Overall, this was an exciting, thrilling, and scary book, and GREAT series! Rosenberg is an author I would read again and again!
SOOOO GOOD!!! March 13, 2010 Rebel OMG! I love his books! I started with the non-fiction, Epicenter, and was so intrigued! That book will change how you look at life in these uncertain times. Then, although I'm not a fan of fiction, I picked up Dead Heat (his most recent in the fiction series) and couldn't put it down! Joel Rosenberg is truly gifted with an uncanny ability to paint a picture of what could be coming, based on what the Bible says will happen in the last days. Many of the fictitious events he writes of in his novels materialize in real life! This book has made me want to go back and get the previous books in the series, so that I can start from the beginning, not at the end!
