Power of now, A New Earth and myLife Framework - Excellent Trio June 24, 2009 Gabbar (NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I read power of now, it was profound, then I read this book, even more profound and it feels "profound," in the sense of the word. Both are excellent books, I learned a lot of words and more importantly Ekhart explains the profound words very clearly. It was a lot for me for take in. Then I read the book by Sunil Sheoran Mylife Framework: A Model For A Successful Life Based On The Yoga Principles. It was amazing to see the similarity and contrasts. Collectively it made a lots of sense. myLife framework provided an excellent framework to structure everything in life and practical points to use everyday, but not enough details. Power of now and a new earth provided additional detail as well; especially the concept of ego. For me this trio has served to provide an excellent grasp on the topic of life.
A must read June 21, 2009 Buyoneers, LLC (Arizona) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After "The Power of Now", I didn't believe there was anything left to be said. I was wrong. "A New Earth" is completely fresh, very powerful, and an essential complement to the original. Eckhart Tolle writing is simple, his points are crystal clear, and he gives us examples as he guides us along the path to self-discovery. Simply put, this is one of the most important books written.
Absolultly a MUST Read for every body! June 20, 2009 Sigrid Hanser-Ifrah (New York, NYI) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Even though I have read and worked through countless books on the subject for decades, I must say that Eckhart Tolle was able to bring about a profound shift within my thinking, perceiving and feeling, generating a higher level of conscious awareness into my daily living experience in literally 'no time'. I urge every human being who can read to read the book and assimilate its contents, not only for ones own `betterment' but more importantly for the `rescuing' of the world we live in.
Priceless follow up to Power of Now June 19, 2009 Jeff R. (Chicago, IL) This book, to me, is a continuation of the work started by Tolle in The Power of Now. It helped me go further into the practice of harnessing the joy and clarity of this and every moment and helped me see how to use this power to change my life, my environment, my world for the better. Most important, how to help others do the same.
A New Jargon for old Truths June 19, 2009 M. Wahl (Rochester, New York United States) I first bought this book for my wife, who was watching an Oprah webcast featuring the author, Eckhart Tolle. As I perused it I wondered where all the references and acknowlegements were: I had read similar material before, and much, but not all the jargon could be found in Jungian or other psychology, such as "collective ego", "the unconscious" or "synchronistic". The same could be said about the spiritual terms, which to the author's credit were descibed as "signposts". Yet here, where other authors (such as Irene Claremont de Castillejo) had linked spiritual with psychological "signposts" such as Self, Holy Sirit or Love, the links disappeared. In the 'Notes' section at the back of this book I found many references to the Bible, and a few from Shakespeare, but none from Jung, Krishnamurti, Freud, or a host of New-Age thinkers who almost certainly had been read by the author, a former research scholar. New terms such as "Pain-Body" were attractive but vague, and the search engines, for this term, only brought me back to Tolle's work. Was the "Pain-Body" something like Jungs 'archetypes of the collective unconscious', or was it more like an evil spirit, that could migrate from one person to another? All pettiness aside, however, Tolle's fine work can help snap one back into the 'Now', awakening one to the inner connectedness of feeling, thought, intuition and sensation...of the "inner body" especially. It has stimulated many reviews here on Amazon, and many discussions across the world. Not bad.
