I loved It, true romance, true suffering... If any one has been in love this is a fair description of real life romance, and the sufferings that may come if you dare loose it. Their love is strong as love can be. In Eduard's words "she is her brand of heroin"...

Great book, great romance.

5 out of 5 stars Don't care for Bella but I'm a proud Team Jacob member   August 24, 2010

Unlike "Twilight" movie and book, the book "New Moon" stuck close to the movie so if you saw one, you saw the other. There was a bit more feedback about the Viltari (Vampire royalty) though and considering I'm Team Jacob, I enjoyed all of the extra details about him. For me to read a 563-page book, I'd have to REALLY be into it and I never got bored. I read this book in two days and now I'm tapping my fingers anxiously waiting to read "Eclipse" to see if it's better than the movie, which I also enjoyed. I have to pull my ponytail holder off (I don't wear hats) to Stephenie Meyer for writing such a fascinating four-part book series. I have never been into werewolves or vampires, but I am eating this stuff up. I'm a late fan, but I'm 100 percent fan and talk anybody's ear off about how great her books are. My only problem with this book is I could sympathize with Bella in "Twilight."

But in "New Moon," Bella got on my nerves repeatedly. She's spoiled, whines too much, has the nerve to give people ultimatums and rebels against everything. Now the rebellious part I can get into, but she consistently disrespected her father to the point that I wondered why he didn't kick her out on her butt, especially after the Viltari issue. She kept screaming she was grown. If I was Charlie, I'd have told her to kick rocks and let her move out. It was disturbing how she seemed to respect Carlisle more than her own father, and Charlie hadn't really done anything to get that kind of treatment. It was like watching Becky from "Roseanne" just wild out all the time. I definitely couldn't get into her stringing Jacob along like a sick puppy, but in her defense, she was honest from the very beginning about just wanting to be friends. Team Jacob or not, I'm not a fan of settling either so I respected that.

Edward is fascinating to me. I didn't care for him in the film version of "New Moon," but I understood him more while reading the book. Yes, many of his lines were corny, but truthfully what woman doesn't want a man to be THAT into her? He's got it bad, worse than Usher! Anyway, I enjoyed the read, 563 pages in 2 days. I just couldn't keep my eyes off this book. I can't really focus on the next book I"m reading because I'm too busy wondering when "Eclipse" will get to me. The perk of being a late fan is I don't have to wait as long for movies and books. Since it's all new to me, I can read and watch it all at once. Sweet!

This comment is for Stephanie Meyer, I'm one of millions of fans loved the twilight saga and the short second life of Bree Tanner. I also love the movies just as much. I just have one question, are you going write book about the daughter of Bella and Edward? If not it's my deepest wish that you would, because it would be cool to know what goes on inside Reneesme's head and how she feels about Jacob Black. And would happen between those two as she gets older.

Excellent continuation to the first book. This was a gift to my wife, who has read the first two books already.
